Cookery

There is a tradition in Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh to provide an opportunity to take part in cookery lessons in fifth class. This tradition has been upheld since 1965 when the school first opened its’ doors. SSN cailíní are fortunate to have a cookery room on the school campus comprising of ovens, sinks, mixers, bowls, chopping boards etc. The class teachers hold cookery demonstrations and then invite their pupils, donning white aprons and headbands, to complete the recipes with their cookery partners.  Organisation, cleanliness and teamwork are important elements of these lessons. The girls thoroughly enjoy sharing their delicious creations with friends and family.
