Junior Entrepreneur Competition
Our Fifth Class have been so busy over recent months, working on their entry for Junior Entrepreneur Ireland.
Following a long lead in time of planning, which involved a vist to Glenilen Farm in Drimoleague to meet with Valerie Kingston, who developed a thriving business, having started making yogurts in her own kitchen twenty years ago, our pupils decided to proceed with the development of the Re-Wrapper. This is a wax coated piece of cotton which can be used instead of tin foil or cling film to wrap school lunches.
The girls melted so much bees wax over the past few weeks coating the cotton squares and it has been a wonderful learning experience for them. On their sale day they made over €800.00.
They now proceed to the R.D.S. on May 20th for the next stage of the competition.
